Become a VFW member-at-large for just $35! All you have to do is sign up online.

Ready to join forces with generations of proud veterans? You may find a member-at-large relationship with the VFW quite appealing.

By applying for membership online, you will become a VFW member-at-large. Members-at-large do not belong to a Post, but your membership card gains you access to VFW’s 7,700 Posts around the world.* As a member-at-large, you will stay connected to a network of veterans and programs that you can take pride in. You’ll feel the support of other women who understand the distinct pride of being a female service member. And if you find a Post that you would like to call home, you can simply renew your membership through that Post.**

Sign up online to become a VFW member-at-large.

It’s super simple and takes only a few moments to complete your application form online. You’ll automatically be registered for a VFW eMembership account which gives you instant access to special promotions and discounts, the option to find other member profiles, the ability to update your membership information, and much more. Here’s what you’ll be asked to provide in the application:

  • Personal Information
    You’ll create an eMembership log-in and password here.

  • Preferred Mailing Address
    Remember, a FREE subscription to VFW Magazine is included in your membership.

  • Home of Record
    This is your billing address and may be the same as your Preferred Mailing Address.

  • Service Information
    Your military status, branch and qualifying experience.
  • Type of Membership
    In addition to an Annual Membership, Life Member and Installment Life Member are options. Learn more.

  • Payment Information
    You can use your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit card.

  • Attestation of Eligibility
    Check the box to indicate that you’ve confirmed your eligibility.

Joining the VFW is $35 well spent.

Annual Membership

If you choose to renew your membership on a yearly basis, the VFW will send dues payment reminders to you via both mail and email, starting six months prior to the end of your membership year.

The VFW membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. If you sign up between January 1 and June 30, your first year's membership will be good through December of that year; if you sign up July 1 or later, your first year's membership will be valid through December 31 of the following year. (Example: Sign up May 1, 2010 and your membership will be good through December 2010; sign up August 1, 2010 and your membership will be good through December 2011.)

*A member-at-large cannot participate in Post elections.
