Iraq War Veteran also a Kansas Lawmaker
Lieutenant Colonel Melanie Meier resigned from her post as Kansas State Representative to deploy to Iraq in the spring of 2009. As the brigade inspector general in Iraq, this member of the Kansas Army National Guard led a team of field-grade officers and senior NCOs. Currently working as a defense contractor at Ft. Leavenworth following her return from Iraq in January, Meier has every intention of campaigning for re-election. Learn more about this Guard member who served both in public office and overseas.
